We at CMH Renault in Midrand are extremely proud to announce that, according to the 2017 Kinsey report that was released earlier this year, our Renault models are amongst the cheapest vehicles to service and repair on the South African market today.
The Kinsey report, which has been running annually from 1990 and is endorsed by the Automobile Association of South Africa, scans the market to assess which vehicles are the cheapest to service and repair by comparing service parts cost, body part costs and initial purchase prices, then draws the comparisons between the 3 cheapest ones in each category.
According to this report, the Renault Kwid got the 7th overall place in the “City and entry-level cars” class but beat all its competitors in initial purchase price. The Sandero and the Renault Clio took 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the “Super-mini” class, beating the winner in the category with initial purchase price but just missing the nail on crash-part costs. The Renault Duster took 5th place in the “Compact Crossover” class, beating most of its competitors on initial purchase price. These are huge accolades for our vehicles, and we are proud to see our vehicles doing so well in the current market.
We invite you to come visit us at 451 New Road in Midrand and come see how we can save you money. You can also call us today on
Trusting your vehicle with any mechanic is a huge issue for most new and experienced car buyers. It is one of those tasks that even when you are only requesting a quote, you might close your eyes in hopes that the amount which will be reflecting on the quote is not going to burst your pockets. Service Mechanic Ephrone is the first person you will meet, on any typical day at the workshop. He is usually his funny and extroverted self. Quite often you’d hear him say ‘’this thing is not easy’’ referring to the skill required to work on any Renault issue from maintenance, repair or service work. But then, he will say,’’ but no worries, we will figure it out’’.
Seen here is Ephrone, a certified Service Mechanic with eight years of experience working with Renault vehicles. Right now, as seen here he is entrusted with the responsibility of passing on his years of experience to one of the learner – Timothy Mamabolo in his pursuit of becoming a better mechanic than Ephrone.
For all your Renault’s mechanic or technical issues contact us at CMH Renault Midrand. We have competitive prices, great repair work, parts and great turnaround service time at your convenience. Designed in the same spirit which continues to prove so popular with Renault Mégane buyers, the New Clio GT-Line is powered up and ready to boost Clio’s already extensive South African fan base.
Developed using the same build platform as that of the much-loved and highly acclaimed Clio and launched in response to demand by Clio customers looking for a distinctive look and feel, the inclusion of a number of bold features and fitments have successfully given the GT-Line a sporty stance setting it apart from its Clio peers.
The addition of the Overboost function nestling under the bonnet serves to power up the performance of Clio’s already impressive F1-inspired Energy 66kW Turbo engine giving the GT-Line a proven and powerful edge.
Mirroring several of the proven and popular design elements débuted at the Renault Mégane GT-Line launch, these have been adapted for and carried over to its Clio sibling, further enhancing its status as a pillar model of the Renault range worldwide.
In short, the introduction of the New Renault Clio GT-Line to South Africa – an absolute no brainer!
UPGRADED ENGINE: now with Overboost function
With the increasing market shift towards engine downsizing for economy and ecological reasons alike, with the launch of Clio, Renault broke ground with the introduction of its 66kW Turbo engine and Stop/Start technology (zero emission, zero consumption when stationary plus fast restart).
While the Clio GT-Line is equipped with the F1-inspired 900cc 66kW Turbo engine found in the Clio Expression and Dynamique variants, thanks to the inclusion of the overboost function, it packs added punch squeezing out an additional 4kW and 15Nm in 2ndand 3rd gears for up to 20 seconds respectively and pushing peak power output to 70kW @ 5 250 rpm and 150Nm torque @ 2 500 rpm.
Renault’s focus on the advancement of engine technology is keen and its Turbo Control Efficiency engine line-up is a direct result of Renault’s F1 technology transfer prowess and capabilities. The company is, however, committed to making strategic and commercial choices that favour ecological balance.
While the performance and practicality of its 66kW Turbo engine with overboost is powerful, the reduction in fuel consumption (4.5 litres/100km in NEDC Combined Cycle) and CO² emissions (105g/km) is significant.
F1 TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER
That engine downsizing is the way forward is undisputed … and this has been demonstrated on the F1 stage where performance, fuel efficiency, quality and reliability are tested to their limits.
Renault is a pioneering force in this field and the tools and talents used by its skilled engineers to develop smaller, lighter and more fuel efficient engines for F1 are exactly the same as those used to develop new technology power plants for production car engines.
Key F1 engine features that have been successfully transferred to Renault’s road cars include:
